Health Quality Ontario

Health Quality Ontario has introduced quality standards to Ontario

Quality standards are a go-to resource for quality care. They are concise sets of easy-to-understand statements based on the best evidence and include:

  • Clinical guides for health care professionals
  • Patient reference guides to help patients, families and caregivers know what to discuss with their clinicians about their care
  • Information and data briefs to demonstrate why a quality standard is needed
  • Implementation plans, and quality improvement tools and resources, to support adoption

The program launched with the release of three quality standards:

  1. BEHAVIOURAL SYMPTOMS OF DEMENTIA
  2. SCHIZOPHRENIA CARE FOR ADULTS IN HOSPITALS
  3. MAJOR DEPRESSION CARE FOR ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS
