Announcement - Dr. Jon H. Johnsen
Following a competitive process, it is our great pleasure to announce Dr. Jon Johnsen as the successful candidate in the role of North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Clinical Quality Lead.
In his new role, Dr. Johnsen will have the opportunity to influence positive change that results in improved patient outcomes, experience of care and value for money. The ultimate goal will be to align the quality agenda while engaging North West LHIN communities to build on and help accelerate existing efforts to promote a culture of quality.
Dr. Johnsen will have a dual reporting relationship to the Chief, Clinical Quality at Health Quality Ontario (HQO), and the Chief Executive Officer of the North West LHIN. Through the establishment of Regional Quality Tables, HQO and the LHINs are collaborating to advance clinical quality in a coordinated and impactful way across the province, supporting improvement in ways that are meaningful to patients. Dr. Johnsen will chair the North West LHIN Regional Quality Table.
Dr. Jon Johnsen is a family doctor in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He graduated from medical school at Dalhousie University, and did his family practice residency in Thunder Bay through the Northern Ontario Medical Program of McMaster University. His full scope family practice is with the Fort William Family Health Team. He holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. His past roles have included being a board member of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) and Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. He is also a past chair of the OMA Section on General and Family Practice. He has served as president of the Professional Staff Association of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and the Thunder Bay Medical Society.
